Anticipation is Building

Ride to the airport is arranged, hair appointment made for wedding day, and a list of the little things my friend misses to be picked up to bring with me on the trip.  Apparently, it is hard to get a number of things we buy here everyday, things like tea and maple syrup.  That could be arranged....

Packing and last minute decisions on the "must have" items begins today.  I will pack everything I know I will need that isn't required every day, work one more day and then the "real" packing will begin.  A big thanks to Richard for all his help with picking up what I will need for the trip.

Am I excited, you betcha.  First trip abroad...should be great!

The last few days, while back to work, I have been picking up travel size items, a new dress for the wedding, and thinking about how to meet the baggage limits and still have everything I need for the trip and maybe some room for souvenirs?

The flight and hotel are booked and my friend and I have discussed where we want to tour in Glasgow during the couple of days we have before and after the wedding.  The botanical garden is a definite since she has always wanted to go and never been there.  We of course will go shopping, and if time permits take a subway tour of the city and see some castles.

It will be a whirlwind tour, but I am sure a quality time spent with good friends.  When I get back I am sure I will be devising ways of traveling more while reviewing the many pics I took of the wedding and Scotland.  I am really looking forward to seeing my friends and a little more of the world!

Planning my trip to Scotland

The last couple of weeks, I have been planning a trip to Scotland for a friend's wedding.  I sounds simple, but was trying to do it based on some overtime being paid, which held up making the reservations until it was paid.  I got a decent deal for just a week, will be spending time in Glasgow and surrounding places..

I have only been through most provinces in Canada, quite a few places in the U.S. Mexico and Cuba, so the UK is new and fun.  I have some attractions picked out, so we will see where I end up, but looks like some good photo opportunities...

That's the attractions in Glasgow I have so far, I will keep updating as the plans unfold.
